Each year at The K-LOVE Fan Awards we aim to create a fan-friendly experience that will be altogether unique and engaging for all of the loyal listeners who are able to attend. Now in the event’s fifth year, we are able to do something totally different. As you might have heard, The K-LOVE Fan Awards will be broadcast into select theaters nationwide for the first time ever. This one-night-only event will be on Tuesday, June 13th, at 7 p.m. local time. We know that any time there is a big change or update to a successful program, people have questions about what led to the decision. That could be a new update to your favorite social media platform, a change in the recipe of your favorite dish at your favorite restaurant, or something similar you’ve noticed in your daily life. The choice to bring a highlighted portion of this massive event to the silver screen is one that we are excited about and look forward to seeing come to fruition. Here are a few reasons why we’re so excited:
When the K-LOVE Fan Awards first began in 2013, we were so proud to hold the inaugural event at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. A beloved stage to a limitless number of country singers, musicians, and fans, the venue was a great fit for such a big occasion. We quickly learned, however, that we were going to need more space if we wanted to do the ultimate fan experience right.
As amazing as the Ryman is and what it has meant for generations of music lovers, the building only sat just over 2,000 people. Once you factor in all the great Christian artists who attend and everyone responsible for making the show run, we weren’t able to bring in as many fans as we would have liked. That’s why we were excited to move the show to the Grand Ole Opry House in recent years. Another one of the greatest music venues in the country, this facility allowed us to nearly double the number of fans able to see this exciting show in person. The location also made lodging arrangements easier as the biggest resort east of Las Vegas is within walking distance of this legendary venue. The Gaylord Opryland Resort is one of a kind and offers dining options, entertainment, shopping, and most importantly, quality lodging in large quantities.
We love the facilities that we are able to use for this annual event, but what happens within the walls of these buildings is so much more important than the name on the outside. The K-LOVE Fan Awards exists to create a fan experience that celebrates and promotes artists, athletes, authors, and entertainers who, with excellence, engage and impact popular culture for Jesus Christ. That message inherently breaks down to two ideas: 1) Allowing fans to interact with and celebrate the people who are making a daily impact in their Christian walks and 2) Finding new ways in which the Christian community as a whole can reach the world for the cause of Christ.
Through creating this one-night event in select theaters nationwide, we are opening the door for millions of Americans to see the excitement of the The K-LOVE Fan Awards for the very first time. Even though this broadcast version will not cover all of the fun events that take place throughout the weekend, it will give fans a glimpse at the many exciting things that are happening within Christian entertainment. Maybe you’ve always wanted to come to the Fan Awards but didn’t know quite what to expect. This could be a great test run for you!
