Christian Conferences and Tours to Look for in Fall 2017

Fall is the time for football, going back to school, and breaking out your favorite flannel apparel. It also signals a new season for Christian conferences and concert tours for you and your family to enjoy. Christian concert tours promise entertainment for the whole family and provide the opportunity to reignite or deepen your faith. For those looking to challenge themselves and increase the effectiveness of their ministry, Christian conferences are a great way to learn from others and network with fellow leaders. Let’s look at a few of your best options for Christian conferences and concert tours this fall.

Christian Concert Tours

Depending on your location, you can see most of the year’s hottest bands in a city near you this fall. While a few popular acts are taking breaks at the moment, several K-LOVE Fan Awards favorites will be making the rounds at churches, concert halls, and arenas around the country. A 2017 Group or Duo of the Year nominee, Needtobreathe just launched its All the Feels tour in Memphis, TN. This tour promises a little variety for fans that have been following the group over the last decade. Some stops along the road will be acoustic shows while others will have the newer rock and roll vibe that 2016’s “Hard Love” showcased. You can also expect to see familiar faces like Jon Foreman and others joining the band along the way.

For a night of inspiration, be sure to look for the Rise Out of the Dark tour coming your way soon. This show will feature many encouraging artists like Mandisa, Danny Gokey, Jasmine Murray, and Love and the Outcome. If you’re wanting an upbeat show that is bound to get your feet moving, you can’t do much better than that lineup.

Fans of MercyMe know the group released a new album this past spring and will be touring with Unspoken and Ryan Stevenson (“Eye of the Storm”) this fall. The album had a strong first single with “Even If” and we’re sure the tour will provide hope and entertainment for your group of family and friends this season. Another popular Christian artist touring off a strong single is Stars Go Dim. The group hit high on the charts with the uplifting song “You Are Loved” in 2015. Find out how you can see Stars Go Dim this fall by going here.

Two of the most popular bands at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, Casting Crowns and for KING & COUNTRY, will be touring together this winter on A Glorious Christmas tour. Before that tour kicks off, however, Casting Crowns will be touring their latest album, “The Very Next Thing,” through November. Another well-known performer on the Christian circuit is Lecrae. Fresh off the release of his new album, “All Things Work Together,” the rapper will be stopping by Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, Denver, and most other major cities.

Needing a lot of bang for your buck? You might want to check out the Air1 Positive Hits tour this fall. The show features a variety of different acts that will appeal to everyone in your family. Skillet is one of the biggest Christian rock bands of all time and brings a large catalog of music that is both inspiring and fun to see live. You’ll also get a little pop to go with your rock as Britt Nicole, Tauren Wells, and Colton Dixon will take the stage as well.

For anyone needing to enjoy a night of pure worship, there are several great Christian artists who promise to deliver an atmosphere of praise this fall. First off, you can get a night of Southern rock and modern worship classics when Crowder comes to town for the American Prodigal tour. You’ll get another amazing show when you join Big Daddy Weave and We Are Messengers for the Set Free tour. Performing hit songs like “Magnify” and “The Lion and the Lamb,” these two groups are sure to bring about a wonderful night of music. You can also catch Chris Tomlin on a few stops this fall before he kicks off a Christmas tour in December.

We’ve saved one of the biggest shows of the fall for last as Newsboys headlines the Big Church Night Out tour. Joining the group will be Sidewalk Prophets, Blanca, 7eventh Time Down, Derek Minor, and other great acts. The event promises to be an inclusive night of worship that seeks to bring together Christians of all kinds as they celebrate the global church.

Christian Conferences

We’ve seen some exciting concert tours happening this fall, but what if you want to attend Christian conferences that will help you better serve your church and community. It turns out that there are several good outlets where you can plug in. We know it can be hard to find the right conference for you, but there are plenty of cool choices to consider.

Two Christian conferences that just took place in September are the Experience and Getty Music Worship Conference (or “SING!”) Each of these conferences exists to develop worship leaders and inspire them to be the best they can be for their local churches. Experience is a massive conference in Orlando that emphasizes technology and more contemporary worship ministries. With extensive workshops and targeted curriculum, it’s a great way for worship pastors and tech-minded individuals to learn. Sing! Is an annual conference in the Nashville, TN area that focuses on the idea of congregational singing. It seeks to better equip worship pastors with strategies and practices that will help them lead their church body in worship. Each of these conferences feature amazing guests like John Piper, Zach Williams, Shane and Shane, and many other popular voices from the ministry.

Although these two worship events mostly take place in one location, one of the many Christian conferences that take place in multiple spots is the Hillsong Conference. Taking place in Sydney, London, and Los Angeles, this powerful worship conference kicks off in early November.

Christian conferences don’t just revolve around music, though, as many focus on specific ministries within the church. The ETCH Family Ministry Conference is about equipping families and ministry leaders with the best methods for raising the next generation of believers. Catalyst is a leadership conference that travels around the country, but the big event in 2017 will be in Atlanta in early October. It will feature Andy Stanley, Christine Cain, Tim Tebow, and too many other big names to even mention.

SALT is a touring one-day conference that will hit Kansas City, Chicago, and other cities this fall. This is one of the Christian conferences that is keyed in on tending to ministry leaders and church staff who are looking for ways to reinvigorate their congregations and/or better meet the needs of their communities. More creative minded folks are likely to be interested in the STORY conference. This event is one of many that are intended to provide community and networking for artists, filmmakers, musicians, and more who want to use their talents for advancing stories that honor the God of all nature.

Lastly, if you’re looking for Christian conferences that deal with church planting and other discipleship opportunities, the Exponential conference might be the way to go. Each year this organization puts together regional conferences that will lead you in new ways to reach emerging communities and to partner with fellow believers around you.

For special events this fall, look no further than Christian conferences and concert tours like those listed above. We can continue to learn and grow together while also enjoying great entertainment with family and friends. See how you can grow personally and in your local ministry.
